A depressed eighteen-year-old boy discovers love when he agrees to help an old friend trick a bully by dressing as a woman.

Jason's life has been hard since his father killed his mother, and the police killed his father. Forced to live with his aunt and move away from his friends, he spends his teens lonely and depressed. Bullied at school and at work, he writes compulsively in his notebook, sometimes planning suicide, sometimes planning violence.

When his old friend Timmy reenters his life and asks him to dress as a woman to trick their childhood bully, Jason sees it as an opportunity to set things straight with the other bullies in his life as well, and he agrees to it.

What he doesn't realize is that Timmy's not trying to trick a bully. It's Jason he's deceiving. Does it matter once Jason falls in love and learns to accept himself?

Jason vit chez sa tante depuis qu'à l'âge de 13 ans son père ivre et violant à tué sa mère et s'est lui-même fait tué par les policiers. Maintenant à 18 ans Jason est dépressif et suicidaire, à l'école comme au travail, il se fait harceler par d'autres jeunes, il est seul et bataille à accepter sa sexualité, surtout qu'au moment ou sa mère est morte, il portait pour elle une robe de bal qu'elle arrangeait en tant que couturière et c'est ce qui a mené à sa mort.

Lors de d'une soirée d'anniversaire, son ancien meilleur ami, lui demande un truc assez impensable, de l'accompagner au bal des finissants, habillé en fille. Il le convainc en lui disant que c'est pour rendre la monnaie de sa pièce à un autre de leur ancien ami qui est un tourmenteur. Sauf que une fois la soirée entamé, Jason commence à se demander si Timmy lui a réellement dit la vérité et si ce n'est pas lui qui se fait roulé...

J'ai bien aimé cette petite nouvelle, Jason est vraiment attachant à se chercher ainsi, c'est un jeune homme qui a vécu des choses très très très difficiles et il est fragile, il ne sait plus trop qui il est et qui il veut être. Timmy qui semble vraiment plus fort et mature va l'aider à faire le tri.
